Busy times.

I went through the temple this last weekend and received my endowments. It was quite the experience. It has increased my faith in God and in myself.

A lot has been on my mind for these last few weeks, and I'm not really sure how to put into words what I've experienced. Satan has been working really hard to keep me from going on a mission on through the temple. He knows he can't shake my faith in Jesus Christ, so he aims for my faith in myself instead.

I'm so thankful to my Mommy and Daddy and all that they do for me. Both of them have been there throughout all the ups and downs of me choosing to serve a mission. Those ups and downs are still present, and my parents' are still incredibly supportive.

I'm thankful to my grandparents, my brother, my sisters, their husbands, and their kids in their support as well. It's been great to have so much family to rely on.

And I'm thankful to my closest friends. I know that I am in the right major because, not only do I enjoy the classes but I'm a natural. For the most part, I pick up this communicative disorders stuff so easily.

Work is going well too. I met lots and lots of great individuals. Thanks for an amazing summer everyone! Now school has started and I'm really excited about this semester. I'm taking phonetics, anatomy, history of jazz, human development, old testament (institute: make it a priority), and voice lessons. Lots of things to keep me busy.

I recently moved into a new apartment. It's an upstairs apartment in a super old school house. I call it the penthouse. I'm rooming with some super wonderful ladies Jeralyn, Dayna, and Jay. They are chipper, friendly, and easy going. With them, this year will be one to remember.

Okay, this is all good news. But the blog-breaking news is yet to come. One of the amazing people I met at EFY this summer is Kami. She and I set a goal to exercise more often. In order to start our exercise goal off right, she introduced me to this life-changing video... Well there you are, I didn’t see you behind that grain of rice. Boom, roasted!
Oscar, you’re gay.
Andy, Cornell called they think you suck and you’re gayer than Oscar. Boom, roasted!"

I want to hold a roast for all the frustrations that I have now.

USU Advisors, McDonald's suits you better. Boom, roasted!
Boys, you smell. Boom, roasted!
Car, you may want to look up the definition for transportation. Boom, roasted!
School Loan, go pay yourself off. Boom, roasted!

Phew! Haha. That feels okay. Now I'm going to go write a gratitude list. ♥

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://rindsie.blogspot.com/2011/04/boom-roasted.html' title='Boom! Let me count the ways... 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 days of spring break definitely helps.

For spring break, I took a little trip with some friends. On the way down Emily and I had the most epic car flirting experience ever. Ready, Set, STORY!

There we are, driving in Nephi, a red car pulls up next to us and the passenger gives a little head nod. Emily and I just laugh, and then I see the Utah State sticker in the back of their car. We had to tell them we were fellow Aggies. I put on blue gloves passed out at the basketball games and we catch up to them. I do "The Scotsman" cheer as we pass. Next thing I know, they have an iPad out that says "Cedar City?"
"Nope, St. George." We manage to communicate.
The next statement we get from the iPad is, "Lunch in Fillmore?"
As fun as that would be, I'm currently taken and Emily didn't want to be the only one, so we said no. We thought that was the end, right? Nope...
Right before the Fillmore exit we get another message, "Subway in Fillmore. Hope to see you there." Again, we pass and laugh. End of story, right? Wrong again.

Likealittle.com is an interesting flirting website that is used when using words is not your style... My friends and I have recently developed an addiction to seeing what people post on this website. Lo and Behold, only a few hours after arriving in St. George we see this message. click here

Hilarious, eh? We thought so.

While in St. George we got to go to Zions, where Jenny ripped her pants (pictures available on facebook).

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ueDZ4Yxwep8/TX8RADjzcxI/AAAAAAAAALw/UjpJLGRuZKk/s320/IMG_5471.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5584200755615855378" />

And to Las Vegas to see our Aggies play...

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-5YxA81oadC8/TX8RRAnUniI/AAAAAAAAAL4/UTeE9x-6lqg/s320/IMG_5483.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5584201046883081762" />

While in Vegas, we also got kicked out of two casinos. All of us passing 21 by a few years, except for little Emily. She's still 20. Lots of good times, even if we can't be on the casino floor or even in the sports lounge. Thanks for a great break guys!!

Stories

Keeping up on blogging is haaaard (said with an extremely whiny voice).

I'm sorry to friends and family that have been turning to my blog in hope of an update. Here's what's new:

I am in love with Aggie Basketball. I love the spectrum full of 10,000 people. I love the cheers. I especially love our Super Fan, Wild Bill. Not so much a fan of the actual basketball, but going to the games is a total blast.

I have mysteriously managed to burn, scratch, cut, or bruise myself at an exponentially increasing rate over the past few weeks. I've burnt my hand twice on my straightener, once on the oven; fell on the ice causing a nice bruise to form right below my knee cap; got viciously scratched during a game of basketball... I should probably just stay inside for a few days and prevent anything bad from happening.

So... Spring break is this coming week. USU gives an entire week off (Woot Woot!). I'm going to head down to St. George to enjoy the sunshine. The only downside to this adventure...(pause for effect)... I have 3 tests the week we get back to school. I know right!? 3 tests that I have to study for over this awesome week in a sunny place :( At least I'll be able to study outside!

Anyway, that's what's new...

school expenses

Just want you to know... I am one for setting goals though. Here are my goals.

1. Read the Book of Mormon twice.
I am hoping to read it in 100 days, but promise not to get mad at myself if it takes more than that. As long as I finish it twice this year. :)

2. Don't watch so much T.V. and movies.
I watched a lot of T.V. this last semester and I've noticed differences. My laziness has increased sooo much and my acceptance of "worldly ways" has increased. Not good people! So no American Idol, no America's Next Top Model, No Office (oooo... that's a hard one).

3. 4.0 Baby!
I really want a 4.0 this semester, but I will be satisfied with a 3.7. I want to show my advisor that I'm sticking with Communicative Disorders and I think a boost in the G.P.A will do so.

4. Get Organized
I've made lists of expectations I have in organization. I have checklists and I have time-schedules. I feel that the lists will probably make me feel guilty enough to stick to it.

5. Get a Job.
I need one. Really bad. Any assistance in this department will be greatly appreciated. :)

These are my goals, not my resolutions. Let's see how I do!

more

Time for a Festive background! Happy December!!

I left my camera at my parents' house during Thanksgiving Break. So no pictures this time. I'll get it back soon though.

The guy that was supposed to buy my macbook bailed, so now I have no money. I am not friends with that guy. He is on my bad list. If anyone wants a macbook, let me know. You can have mine. :)

I got a letter from Sister Simmons. She's doing great! I also found her mission blog if you are interested in checking up on her. She comes back in February, if she lets them which is not likely.

Yesterday, was the best. I went snowshoeing up Green Canyon AND sledding on Old Main hill AND had some nutella toast. It was a great way to celebrate the snow.

I've registered for classes for next semester. I'm taking language science, speech & hearing & language development, acoustics of the ear, and a few other classes related to communicative disorders. I'm also taking rock climbing for fun :) It's going to be a fun semester (even if it does start at 7:30 am).

Well, that's it for now. It was to support the Special Olympics, which I really want to help out with now.

After that I got a tour of Logan City. I went to Great Harvest and had a yummy sandwich, then to Global Village and the hippie store, Earth Awakenings (pretty sure they were selling a few illegal things, if you catch my drift). I went to Gossner's too. They have flavored milk! I had orange creme milk (tasted like a creamsicle) and rootbeer milk (tasted just like the frothy part of a rootbeer float). It was incredible! I had some very squeaky cheese as well.

Now for the funny of the weekend:

After Gossner's, I went to a place called "All About Socks" If a store that only sells socks isn't funny enough for you, just wait. While I was there, I found a pair of socks that had beer mugs on them. Absolutely hilarious, right? My friend bought the socks and I hope he cherishes them for his whole life. I found an amazing pair of "socks". They were $1.00. They are rainbow-striped. I was soo excited to put them on when I got home. To my horror, I discovered that these socks were actually tights for two year olds. Never fear! I turned them into socks! Here is the finished product!

Life Happenings

Logan has transformed me into a new person. I like the new person too. It's the person that I've been all along that couldn't find a way out until now. I really feel like I'm blossoming. I'm more motivated, more uplifting, and more confident.

I don't know if Logan is the real reason, although I do think it has a lot to do with it. Change is so healthy and my "transformation" is proof of that.

Here's what's new:

1) I have been admitted into the Communicative Disorders program. Only 1.5 years left till I get my Bachelor's Degree - if all goes well.
Totally scratch English Major. This is a much better program for me. I've been thinking about becoming a SLP for years and years now. I don't know why it took me so long to actually commit to it.

2) I cut my hair. I have cute straight-across bangs now. I'm a pretty spontaneous person, but I'm especially spontaneous when it comes to haircuts. It's very therapeutic for me.

3) I'm really getting into cooking. As a college student, I usually survive off of tuna sandwiches and macaroni and cheese. I'm being better to my body now. :) I made sour cream enchiladas a few weeks ago, and lived off it for a week. I made Shepard's pie this week and still have half a casserole left. It's been a lot of fun so far.

My Fall Break was incredible.

I spent one day in Park City with my family. We visited the 1884 Cemetary in the area - one of the most peaceful places I have ever been. We walked up and down Main Street and visited the Kimball Art Center. I love that museum. It's always got the greatest exhibitions.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_rMte2tTgeZE/TNBNoowdBkI/AAAAAAAAAJ4/yTTmtKAK8U4/s200/IMG_5094.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5535009302569092674" />

I got to see Casey and Jalise and AJ all in one night while we ate pizookie.
It's a cookie pizza with ice cream on top.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_rMte2tTgeZE/TNBNoK8AUVI/AAAAAAAAAJw/LgMN6e_C6fc/s200/IMG_5111.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5535009294564479314" />

I even went horseback riding with Chase. My first time in about 10 years. Once I got bit by a horse and I had a childhood grudge towards them since then. It was so nice to be on the top of the mountain looking down at the fall leaves. Amazing weekend.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_rMte2tTgeZE/TNBMp2cJyWI/AAAAAAAAAJo/aBPqUitpZDY/s200/IMG_5128.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5535008223910283618" />

Want to graduate?

Wowowowow.

Life is good, right? I love it up here. I have a great apartment and awesome roommates.

I haven't been able to do any hikes or anything yet. I've been spending my time getting my room organized. It's all done now. My goal is to keep it that way. No doors on the closets so I can't do my traditional stuff-it-in-the-closet-no-one-will-ever-be-able-to-tell-the-difference routine.

6 YSA stakes were completely changed today. Boundaries, bishoprics, and everything. Haven't really had set meetings yet because of all the changes, but I'm very excited for next Sunday. Our bishop seems very chipper, like Santa Claus with no beard.

I start school tomorrow. I will officially be an Aggie. Wow... It's so great! I'll start the day with Institute (It's better than breakfast), then head over to Communication Disorders, and end the day with Parks and Recreation.

Major? Oh... Do I really have to decide? Now, I am thinking English Teaching with a minor in ESL. I like that plan, so I may actually be double majoring - English Teaching and Social Work/Child Development.

But who knows? I sure don't.

LOVES!

Photos

Check out my photos. It's crazy how fast it goes by! Week 2 in Logan, my groups name was "Greatest of All" with Janey and Jay as co counselors , week 3 we were "Heirs of the Kingdom" with Devin (and Jon for a day) and Amy. I've had 14-15 year olds every week, and it's been the bomb.com!

One another note, my eyes have been bloodshot and irritated for about two weeks now. Pink eye? nope. Lack of sleep? very likely. Allergies? possible. Honestly, who knows? Whoever does, should tell me, so that I can make my eyes a normal color again. :)

I believe in Silly Bandz. They may be better than pogs. I've been handing them out like candy at EFY. I personally own a stingray named Stefan, a whale named Wilson, and a Brontosaurus named Bingley.

Remember how my car (whose name is Aciteritak / Van Gogh) broke down in California because it didn't have any transmission fluid? Did you know there was such a thing as transmission fluid? I sure did not. We were able to get it back to Utah, but I don't know how much longer it will last. Hopefully longer, I guess we will see.

I am going to Disneyland in 20 days! Hurrah! I'm going with approximately 60 EFY counselors and I know it is going to be a blast. I can hardly wait to go. I'm excited for the family trip to Glacier which is in 9 days. This has been such an awesome summer, and there is no better way to close it than two incredible trips with lots of incredible people.

Luvs!

Free Will

Last week in Provo. One second you are dating someone, the next you are in China, or a youth counselor. You are living on your own, you're living at home, you are working, you're on Institute Council, you are engaged, you are considering a mission. . . Life is flat out crazy.

Ok... So what I'm saying is... I'm not going to be in Utah County this coming fall. I am moving to Logan to attend Utah State University. I am so excited, but at the same time kinda sad.

I'm giving up that awesome apartment with Ale which I already miss, but I'm going to be exploring all sorts of different majors that weren't an option until now. Don't be scared by the word "crisis". I've been volunteering for a little over a month, and we've never had a crisis case. It's just a safe environment for kids that are going through the foster care system or family tragedies. It's a lot of fun. I absolutely love it.
This last week, I was watching this little boy play with a dollhouse. There was an elevator that moved up and down with a touch of the button. You could tell he was deciphering it with his little boy mind. I went up to him and asked, "How does that work?" He turned to me and very seriously said, "Because I said so."
It made me laugh out loud. He heard that answer a lot, I guess.

This week for iTV, AJ and I had this very detailed plan. It involved our President, Derick reading a book entitled "How to be a Superhero in 5 easy steps" and proceeding to do those five easy steps. They were:
1. Choose Name - He chose Mr. Power.
2. Find Costume - He wore two capes (thanks Kristi!). One was blue and long, the other was small and red with a mask too small for his head. Also a shirt with Mario on it that said "Power Up!".
3. Destroy Arch Nemesis - This one is my favorite. We had a girl tied to a pillar with rope, struggling to get free. Mr. Power had a guy in a black mask, my incredible friend Casey, in a headlock.
4. Rescue Pretty Girl - he untied her from the pillar and she loved him. Then he raised his arm in a nice, strong power-to-the-people pose.
And... to tie this all into Institute:
5. Go to the Dance

It was so much. I hope it's funny. I think I may have got way to caught up in my own weird sense of humor. Haha. Oh well! I know I will really like it!

Alejandra and I found a place to live. I can't tell you how excited I am to move in.... I'm very excited! It's a really nice condo and we have our own tree! YAY for foliage!

Anything else?? Yeah... I found the best career ever. That's right. I have...made...a....final... decision???? ugh..... maybe.
A Child Life Specialist seems right down my alley. Apartment Anxiety
Alejandra and I are trying to find a nice place to live for the next school year. We are having a really really hard time. :P In the past years, I was focused more on price or location. Now I would really like to find someplace that just feels like a home. A place I can do a bit of decorating and cooking and piano-playing. After looking at a bunch of different places, I think a condo will be the best option. There are TONS of condos though.... Which one? Which one?? Our goal is to have one picked out by the end of this week. Wish us luck!

2. Lost
Here is my spiel about this TV show. I have watched every episode of every season. I love the characters, except for Ben of course. Here's the thing though: We are in the 6th season now, and pretty much what would have been a shock is not a shock anymore. I don't think anything can happen to the storyline to shock me anymore. I've given up on trying to understand it, yet I always watch it. It's like an addiction. I'm lost (haha) as to why I can't turn off the TV and walk away. I feel my brain cell's shrinking and my face shriveling into a look of pure confusion and there is nothing I can do to stop because I'm hoping one day it will all make sense.

3. Kinda annoying...
And my soap box moment of the week.... Car flyers. I feel like I should get a No Solicitor Sign for my car. Flyers about parties, about doing summer sales, about classes for school. And I don't usually notice them until I'm cruising down the street and a paper is trying to break free from my windshield wiper which cannot be fixed by turning on the wipers bytheway.

One reason that I love China.

Jay Chou. It was absolutely incredible! Let me extrapolate:
I woke up on time, which is always a good way to start the day. Class was great and what not. I understood Math, which also added to my happiness level.
Then I went to institute and got a pretty good seat for the devotional. We had a guest speaker... Elder L. Tom Perry! I got to wear an earpiece to make sure the recording was going well. With my awesome white trench-ish coat, I looked like Security and felt awesome. After a very spiritual devotional, I went to a luncheon with my Institute Council pals and Elder Perry. We had Lionhouse rolls, and Chicken Cordon Bleu (hmmmm) and the biggest eclair I have ever seen in my life. It was delicious!
Elder Perry then said a few words to the council, including one of the best compliments I have ever received. While speaking about enrollment, he turned to me and said, "Look at this beautiful sister. No one can say no to her!" I blushed and smiled. He then said, "Look at that smile. No one can resist you." I was so touched!
An Apostle of the Lord thinks that I am a catch! I didn't get to shake his hand, but I did receive a wonderful compliment, and needed lesson too that I would take any day. :D

♪School's back for the spring!♪

The New Semester has started!
I changed my major and my classes three days before classes officially started. I am now a Behavioral Science Major with an emphasis in Family Studies (which may switch to Social Work in the near future).
I'm taking Sociology of the Family, and Intro to Social Work and I'm hoping to pick my emphasis by the end of this semester. I'll keep you all updated, do not fear! I'm also taking Editing (which was part of my English major, but it sounded like so much fun so I'm going to take it anyway) and Math (Blehghehghegheegehge. I hate Math). I'm also taking two Institute classes, Repentance and Forgiveness and Missionary Preparation. I've met all of my teachers, except the one for Social Work, and I'm really excited about it. I think it will go splendidly.
I've started up Institute Council again. We've already filmed our first video announcement and I think it'll turn out great. WAHOO! It's been a crrrazy semester so I'm spending this break wisely.
It started with an amazing day of skiing at The Canyons (my favorite resort), followed by an awesome sleepover with my institute buddies whom I love; then a relaxing day at home with a few different crafts and a Christmas party with the Ross family, including an incredible football game with an outstanding score. GO BYU!
I'm planning on going snowboarding/skiing 3 more times before school starts again. AND I need book ideas. FINALLY! I have been waiting and waiting for Teacher Evaluations. There is one primary reason for this... Professor Wahlquist. (Even her name drips with malice). At the end of the short evaluation, it asks for any suggestions for the instructor. Here is my suggestion:
"This course is a beginning course. I did not know more than half of the authors and poets at the beginning of the class. I took this class to learn about these authors from a professor. Due to the "organization" of the class, Mrs. Wahlquist barely spoke at all. Each student had the unfortunate opportunity to lecture the class. I paid tutition to hear from a trained professor, not a learning student.
Class participation was not highly praised because most students prefer to just lecture. On the few occasions that Professor Wahlquist did teach, she lectured and lectured. I highly suggest having a discussion on the actual writings and not on Native American culture.
The requirements for this class are too high. As a full time student, involved in extra curricular activities and working, it was impossible to please Mrs. Wahlquist and focus only on her class. I would highly recommend evaluating and reorganizing the entire class structure."
I had to stop there because of word count, but I could have kept going... Isn't it crazy how life just keeps going and before you know it, it's been a month since you posted a blog??
School is stressful. Midterms are coming up and I've caught a cold that attacks all brain cells that specialize in holding attention span and encourage motivation. I haven't been studying enough. I have a plan though. With all that I have on my plate, I've decided to just not focus on math. :) See... it's brilliant. I'll focus on Creative Writing, AM Lit, and Spanish and just retake math next semester. There is simply too much homework and not enough time to study. Well, not enough time to study and socialize which is a necessary part of being Lindsay.
For AM Lit, I am doing a presentation on Walden, by Henry Thoreaux. I went up the canyon yesterday to collect leaves to pass out, but then I actually did the reading. The chapters I am covering are more about winter than fall (blegh...). Now I have to come up with ideas on what I can do to bring winter into the classroom in a transcendental kinda way. I was thinking just sparkles...(don't judge me) like snow. I dunno...
It has been a really fun week. :) I went to a ball with Aaron on Wednesday and wore my prom dress from high school, which was actually to big (how cool is that?? I've lost weight since high school!). It's pink and sparkly. I had bling jewelry and a crown. It was awesome. There was an institute dance on Friday. That was a blast. The music was great and I looked very... bad. lol.

Busy Busy Busy

I'm really really enjoying this semester. I'm keeping myself incredibly busy, which is good and bad. I'm taking 15 credits, working 20 hours a week, 2 institute classes, and I have Institute Council on top of that which takes between 5 and 10 hours of work every week.
My favorite class is Creative Writing. I can't tell you how much my writing has improved in just two weeks. I absolutely love it. I'll have to post my finalized stories. I've written a poem about Play Dough and a short story about an artist and her attractive model and a 20 page autobiography about myself. It keeps me busy, but writing is so much fun! I couldn't have asked for a better professor. I hope I can take a lot more classes from her. She is great (Julie Nichols).
Spanish is a fun class too. I've got a lot of friends who are able to help me on that. Thank goodness for RMs! I got a 96% on my first Spanish test, so I'm feeling pretty confident. "Que Hora Es?" That's about all I know and thats because of my little sister Nikki. haha.
Math is actually my next favorite class. Crazy, I know. It's not at the bottom of the list. It's a hard class, especially for my attention span, but I am learning quite a bit. My professor isn't too bad. I had to switch my schedule around though, because the first professor I had was very strict and not very good. I'm glad I switched because Professor Fearnley makes more sense.
American Lit is at the bottom of the list. :( My professor isn't very good. She's cool, but she has an interesting form of teaching that is proving more beneficial for her than the students. We have to read about 100 pages a week. It's awesome, but throw that in with daily math and spanish homework and big projects in creative writing and you get... a lot of stuff to keep me busy.
Institute Council is probably the best thing that ever happened to me. The people that I've met through it have become a little family (True fact... Arguing occurs on occasion). I absolutely love it and spend a good amount of time in the institute building.
My roommates are awesome, and to prove it....
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 213px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_rMte2tTgeZE/SrVnHNpYdMI/AAAAAAAAAG4/IXndMfh14hk/s320/9625_276807355603_574750603_8999468_6941028_n.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5383322303211271362" />

Homework Blues.

I would love to write something in my blog, but I have too much homework.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 170px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_rMte2tTgeZE/Sp9Cp1KKrqI/AAAAAAAAAGw/TbZolPkywUA/s320/homework.gif" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5377089766515453602" />

Update.

Wowzers!

I went on the LDSSA council retreat this week. Wahootie Wooty! It was amazazing!! We started the trip off at a ropes course where we ran across fast-flowing rivers of peanut butter disaster on giant raisins and celery sticks. The girls beat the boys at an intense game of extreme lava relay race adventure. It was awesome.
Lindsay is deathly afraid of heights bytheway. Seriously afraid. Ugh!! I hate heights. I remember when I was 17 (that's right) I got the opportunity to go repelling down a 50 foot cliff. I tried going over the edge, but couldn't make it. I was crying sooo hard!
Anyway, I am proud to say that I went on a giant swing (54 feet) to be exact. YAY!!! And I jumped off a platform that was 23 feet off the ground. I almost cried, but kept it together :) Pretty much, I feel like $100 bucks!
After this awesome adventure we heading up Sundance Canyon to the cabin we stayed at. We just spent the rest of the trip preparing ourselves mentally and spiritually for the callings we have ahead of us. This is going to be intense. Apparently, the iTV girl gets a stalker every year. Lucky me! I'm hoping to somehow avoid that and break the tradition.
I moved into my new apartment. It's really nice. My roommates are hilarious and fun. I am sure we will get along great. Although, I miss Madison, Katie, and Alejandra so much already!
PS. I lost my camera...again. So no pictures for a while. EFY is my excuse.
My first group was "Dispute Not". They were great. My co-counselors were Casey and Robyn. Here is a picture of just my girls, whom I love very very much. They all had so much patience with me while I figured out the whole EFY thing. They all had great comments and attitudes. I hope that they were able to get a lot out of their week. Thanks girls!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_rMte2tTgeZE/SnHVevGKV5I/AAAAAAAAAGY/VD2DMryXsLk/s320/DSC00523.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5364303355190073234" />
Front row: Amy, Kelsey, Charlotte, Emilee, Sami, and Hannah.
Back row: Deone, McCall, Lindsey, Lindsay (me), Jordi, Di, and Tamara.

My next group was "Rejoiceth Not In Iniquity" with Brett Waters and Jeri Thompson. This group was a lot of fun and slightly crazy at time. :) My cousin Zach was in this group too. How cool is that!? They were all ready to learn and I hope that their first experience (and Amy's second) brought them closer to each other and closer to God. My co-counselors were Ted and Natalie. I love them both so much! We started off the week right with a goal not to judge others and it made a huge impact on my week and hopefully the week of the girls too. All the youth participated in the activities. The dances, the musical program, the variety show "Yeah Toast!". :) They were awesome. Natalie (counselor), Carley, Elizabeth, Jo, Hayley, Laura, Megan, Alice, Kennedy, and Julie. Abbie is missing in this picture. :( She is an awesome girl.

My experiences at EFY were phenomenal. I saw miracles occur. I saw the Lord bless these girls in different ways that brought them closer to our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. Their fabulous spirits are so strong and they are all "Examples of the Believers". I love you girls!!!

Life of Recently.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_rMte2tTgeZE/Sj_D8mMv1dI/AAAAAAAAAGI/R1cnzg_WqCY/s320/DSC00378.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5350210328153019858" />
Ellie and I had a Princess Day a few weeks ago. For my birthday, she gave me a colored coloring book (so cute!) and a little handwritten note which I can't figure out how to turn the right way...
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_rMte2tTgeZE/Sj_GLR16PDI/AAAAAAAAAGQ/GC9ZvWHiTbo/s320/DSC00474.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5350212779409816626" />
It says:
To Lindsay,
Did you like the Princess Day?
I sure did. It was very very very fun dressing up and being "fancy".

My birthday was this week. It was very relaxing and enjoyable. I went to work, got a free massage, took a looong nap, went swimming, had a dance party and watched Singin' in the Rain(Hmmm... Gene Kelly). I am legal to do almost everything, except rent a car and run for President. Wow... I'm 21. It's weird, cause I still feel like I'm 17. Haha!

BTW. 13ish days til EFY!

Thats right.

Okay. It's not over yet, but look at what I will accomplish by the end of this week. I have had to move out, take 4 finals, perform 4 times, work 20 hours, go to Traffic School, make a deposit on my new apartment, and a lot of other small details, including asking my boss for a month off of work so that I can be an EFY Counselor. *cross your fingers!!* I am so excited for next Monday, when the real summer semester will begin. Hopefully, I will be able to entertain myself.
Oh... So remember how I have been studying my little brain near to death with math homework. It is officially over and I have scored a brilliant 97% on my math final!
APPLAUSE!
Thank you, thank you. You are too kind.
I have fooled a few people into thinking that I am actually good at math. Hah! It's been a good semester. I have worked harder than ever, and it shows. My GPA is much higher than it has been in years. I didn't get quite the 4.0 that I was expecting, but that's okay. I have plenty of semesters left. I CAN DO IT!!

Beautiful Day

So, there was this one time that I thought to myself. Hmm... I should check my email before I go to bed. I read through an email with a Professor. I check out the comments made on my facebook status, and then I see that efyhiring sent me an email.... dun. dun. dun.
Slowly, very uncertainly, I clicked on the email. Didn't know email could be this intense did ya? Slowly reading left to right because that's the way we do it in English. I wouldn't know how to read English any other way I read:
" Hello Lindsay Kindlespire, <----That's my name

Thank you for applying to work for EFY this summer. Your application has been processed, and we are interested in hiring you."

Haha! They are interested in hiring me... That's all I know. I just have to fill out some paperwork and then they tell me for how long they want to hire me. Sorry to build it up so much, but Hey! Look on the bright side! I am going to be an EFY Counselor!

Ok... Ready for another??
It is approaching approximately 6:27 PM. I am sitting at my desk at work, anxiously logging out of the phone and staring at my cell phone every few seconds. My adorable pink phone rings once. I do not recognize the number. I answer it nonetheless. "Hello?" I say nervously. "Hi Lindsay. This is Britney with ILP. Would you be able to pay a lot of money to us so you can live outside the country again for only a few weeks?" Okay, fine. She didn't quite say that. "Hi Lindsay. This is Britney with ILP. We are looking for ILP Alumni to help with the summer camp. Would you be available?" Disappointed that this was not the call I was expecting I told Britney with ILP that I have a full summer planned.
I clocked back into work, impatiently waiting. My work phone rings.
"Billing Department. This is Lindsay. May I have your main domain name?"
"Yadda-yadda-blah-blah-blah."
"I'm sorry sir. Can you repeat that?" I reply, glancing at my cell phone.
It rings. This time, I recognize the number. Jenessa Simmons was calling.
"Okay, let me transfer you to Tech Support." Luckily, thats really where he needed to go.
"Nessa! Read it! Read it!"
"Dear Sister Simmons, You have been called by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to serve in the Greece Athens mission!"
The best girl-friend that anyone on this earth has ever been blessed to have will be leaving for her mission on August 19, 2009. Love ya Nessa!

WARNING: ABRUPT CHANGE OF SUBJECT.

I will officially be a member of the Institute Council on Saturday. I have a meeting from 8am to 1pm. Phew! It'll be so much fun though.

On top of all this... My Professor let me turn in my paper late. How awesome is that?? Woo! I'm feeling good.

*P.S. Please note that I decided to get my Associates Degree in English. I still haven't been set apart so it's still a secret).

Read All About It!

It's about time that I updated ya'll on my life. It's going great bytheway.
I have my second interview to join LDSSA (Orem Institute of Religion Student Council) for next year. It's with my Stake President. At this point, I kinda wish I was back to the Grovecreek 3rd Ward. A meeting with President Atkinson doesn't sound as scary as an interview with the President of my new ward. I don't even know his name. President Atkinson has known me for years though. I am really hoping to make student council. It would be a great experience and I know that I would make a ton of new friends.
I still haven't heard back from EFY. I am not planning on being a counselor there at all. I've pretty much ruled it out. Wouldn't it be hilarious if I made it?
I have had a cough for two weeks. I also picked up my roommates cold on top of that. Ugh.. It's been fun. Coughing so hard, that you have to sneeze; sneezing so hard that you have to laugh; and laughing so hard that you have to cough. It's a never ending circle! I just hope that it calms down by Sunday.
I am singing "I Stand All Amazed" on Sunday for the Easter Program. It's the one that my sisters all know. The one we sang at both Nikki's and David's baptism. It's a beautiful arrangement. I'm soo glad that my Mom was able to find the arrangement. The ward choir is also singing two numbers and I will be leading the choir for those two pieces. Beautiful Savior and Come Unto Christ (both can be found online for free at www.defordmusic.com).
General Conference this last week was amazing. I learned a lot. As President Thomas S. Monson said:
"May we long remember that which we have heard during this conference. . . . I urge you to study the messages and to ponder their teachings and then to apply them in your life." What a great man and Prophet of God!
To all those that read to the end of this post. Thanks! I love you all! Life is such a wonderful gift. Live everyday with no regrets. That is my new goal. I've come to realize that mistakes are made, trails occur, but that is the journey of life. Simply enjoy it.

FACEinHOLE

This is what David would look like if he was raised by Elves.

This is what Heidi would look like if, well. We all piled in the room and introduced ourselves to the two ladies interviewing us (I have already forgotten their names). First we introduced ourselves.
"My name is Lindsay Kindlespire, from Pleasant Grove UT. I am currently a student at UVU. I haven't decided on a major yet. I'm working on my generals right now. I would love to be an EFY Counselor for a lot of different reasons. I love the Gospel, and I love working with people. I've taught English in China to 68 kids, I've worked with elderly ladies in a group home, and I would love the opportunity to teach teenagers."
Then we discussed the EFY Theme this year, which is: A Climate of Revelation. I mentioned how when I immediately thought of somewhere you go to relax and ponder. Somewhere peaceful and uplifting, like the Temple.
Next, I was personally asked how I would create "A Climate of Revelation" in a lunchroom setting. I said that I would go on a picnic and talk and think and read with my girls.
Then we were asked to give a short lesson, just two minutes, about the scripture we were handed. I chose Mark 10:27 -
"And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible."
I talked about David and Goliath. How he would not have been able to beat Goliath had God not been with him. David showed faith, hope, courage, and a willingness to do as God commanded. If we also develop these characteristics, we will have God with us, and we too can do impossible things.
The last question asked was:
"You are sending your child to EFY. What is one quality that you would like their counselor to possess?"
I replied that I would hope that their counselor had charity. I would hope that my child would be able to feel the Savior's love through their EFY Counselor.
With that, I shook the ladies hands, gave them each a hug and left the room.
What do you think?? Would you hire me??

Midterms

Good News! In between performances Ryan and I went over to Christus Statue where we met a sister missionary. Not surprising, there are tons of sister missionaries all over temple square. What did surprise me was the little flag under her name tag. This sister was from China. I had to stop and ask her where she was from of course. Sister Gao is from Beijing and is serving a full-time mission in the United States. How it warmed my heart to see a beautiful sister from that wonderful country that I love. I was in awe the rest of the night. It's that much closer. I am so excited for the Church to be spread around the world. I miss China with all my heart. I cannot wait to go back and hopefully I will be allowed to share the wonderful message of My Savior Jesus Christ.

Happy Haircut

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_rMte2tTgeZE/ST8k-H5meuI/AAAAAAAAADQ/0BbXVGqMenk/s320/PC080308.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5277977937992645346" />

I cut Ryan's hair for the first time. It all started about a week ago. Ryan and I went to the Orem Institute of Religion where we both won free goldfish. I named mine Spaz, he named his Kermit. The next day I bought a little 1 gallon fish tank for each of us, and rocks to put in the bottom. Ryan's Kermit had died, so we had to go by him another fish. We ended up buying 5 more fish, so we each had three. Ryan's fish were name Kermit *again, Santa, and Al Bore. My fish were Spaz, Puss (As in Puss in Boots), and Michael Bubble. All the fish died by Tuesday. We went shopping again. We bought a Betta Fish (Gonzo), 3 guppies (Kermit *yet again, Beaker, and Big Bird), 2 Tetras (Thing 1 and Thing 2), and 2 Danios (still don't have names - any suggestions?). We also stole Nikki's fish (Buzz) and her 8 gallon fish tank. The fish tanks are all complete with rocks, and pretty marbles, live plants, fake plants, thermometers, filters, lights, water conditioner, and the big tank even has a waterfall.
This fish had better live more than a week.

All Better... almost.

My computer is back.
